Move Strong: Small Team Training

Locations: Locations: Deerfield (Chicago and Western Suburbs coming soon!)

About This Program
Come to experience this unique NEW exercise program for those with Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease affects each person differently. This small group training experience is a great way for you to more personally maximize YOUR ability level and symptoms. We utilize heart rate monitoring to effectively challenge each participant through a dynamic combination of Strength, Agility, Intensive Cardio, and Boxing exercises.
This class truly takes the research and puts it into action. Studies indicate that intensive exercise where you sustain your average heart rate between 80-85% can be effective in improving the motor symptoms of PD. That is our goal with this class. Bring your energy, enthusiasm, and effort.
Groups will be paired with those of like ability. Each new participant will undergo an initial evaluation training to establish their baseline ability zone. Time to discover the unique ability of exercise to enhance the mind and body!

About This Program
This program utilizes a non-contact boxing exercise program to Fight Back Against Parkinson’s disease. RSBWC was founded by Jim Kroeger and Eric Johnson. Jim was himself diagnosed with PD in 2013 and was introduced to the RSB program by his neurologist. Head Coach Eric Johnson is a Parkinson’s exercise specialist with over 7 years of experience developing exercise programs for people with Parkinson’s disease. We’re excited to welcome you into the ring and take a swing at PD with us.

Each class is focused on enhancing the overall fitness of our Fighters by combining boxing fundamentals with the principles of strength training, reaction time, balance, flexibility, and agility.
